About Daybreak

A shared family calendar and organizer that runs on the devices you already own.

What Daybreak is for

Daybreak is for getting a household onto the same page: who needs to be where, what's for dinner, whose turn it is, and what to pick up on the way home. It puts a shared family calendar, a meal planner, a chore chart, routines and lists in one place.

It is software, not a gadget. Daybreak runs in the browser on the phones, tablets and computers a family already has, so the kitchen display can be a tablet you already own. Daybreak launched on August 13, 2026. It is independent, and not affiliated with any other calendar product.

How we talk about it

We try to keep every claim on this site true of the app as it is today. What isn't ready is listed on the roadmap and said out loud on the pages where you would otherwise assume it. If something here doesn't match what you find in the app, that's a bug in our writing, and we'd like to hear about it.

How Daybreak treats your family's data

A family calendar holds a lot about a family, so here is the short version. The privacy page covers what this website itself collects.

  • Daybreak is a hosted service. Your family's calendar lives in your Daybreak account, and you reach it by signing in.
  • We don't sell your data.
  • This website collects nothing beyond standard server logs, and runs no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
  • Optional integrations are off until you turn them on. Connecting a Google calendar asks Google for read-only access.
  • Sensitive items such as calendar credentials are encrypted at rest.
  • Photos you upload are kept in private storage and are only served to devices signed in to your family.
  • The AI suggestions are optional. When you press one of those buttons, what's needed to answer it (such as your saved favorite meals, the names of the family members who are eating, or the ingredients you typed) is sent to an outside AI provider. If you never press them, nothing is sent.
  • Settings lists every device signed in to your family, and you can revoke any of them.
  • A tablet paired as a wall display can't reach billing, family members, the device list, or export and deletion.
  • You can take your data with you. In Settings, under Account, “Export my data” downloads what your family has stored as a JSON file, and “Export calendar (.ics)” downloads your events as a calendar file. The JSON file lists your photos by filename; the image files themselves are not in it.
  • A family whose trial has ended can still export its data from the subscription screen.
  • You can delete your family yourself. “Delete my family” in Settings asks for a code we email to you and for the family's name typed out, then permanently deletes the family and everything in it. It cannot be undone.
