A chore chart with points and rewards kids want to earn

Chores sit on the family calendar next to everything else, and finishing them adds up to something.

Chores on the calendar, for the person they belong to

Chores have their own row on the calendar. Assign a chore to the family member it belongs to, give it a due time if it has one, and choose whether it happens just that day or repeats: daily, on weekdays, on weekends, on the days you pick, or monthly.

Daybreak week showing how many of each day's chores are done and the points they earn, beside a shared packing list with items checked off

Kids earn points for finished chores

Give a chore a point value. When someone taps it as done, Daybreak asks who did it, and if that person is a child the points go to them. Tap a finished chore again to mark it not done.

A rewards catalog your family writes

List the rewards your family offers and what each one costs in points: screen time, a treat, an outing. Daybreak shows each child's balance, lets you redeem a reward for a child who has enough points, and keeps a list of recent redemptions that you can undo.

Morning and evening routines

Routines are for the things that repeat without needing a time: brushing teeth, packing a backpack, feeding the dog. Set a routine for the morning, the evening or anytime, choose who it's for and how often, and each person checks it off for the day. A routine can also be limited to one season of the year.

Reminders for chores, if you want them

With reminders turned on in Settings, a chore with a due time gets a full-screen reminder ahead of it on any device that has Daybreak open. A chore without a time reminds at the all-day reminder time, which is 8:00 AM until you change it.

Being straight with you

What it doesn't do yet

  • Kids don't have their own logins. Family members are profiles on your family's calendar, so anyone using a signed-in device can check off a chore.
  • There is no approval step. A chore counts as done when it's tapped; a parent can tap it again to undo it.
  • Points are points. Daybreak doesn't track allowance or handle money.
  • Daybreak does not send push notifications to a phone yet. Chore reminders appear on screens that have Daybreak open.

Tomorrow morning can start like this.

Daybreak is live. Set it up tonight on the devices you already own — the whole family wakes up on the same page.
